Clinical bio

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Illinois, Connecticut, and New York with over 25 years of clinical experience. I work with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, self-esteem concerns, relationship difficulties, and other mental health challenges. I also have extensive experience supporting people through trauma, addiction, grief and bereavement, and major life transitions. My background in trauma and disaster relief includes providing support following 9/11, the Sandy Hook school shooting, and the 2013 Alberta floods. I am Linehan-trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and an EMDRIA-certified EMDR therapist. I believe that effective therapy begins with feeling heard, understood, and accepted. I take the time to get to know each client and understand their unique experiences, strengths, and goals. My approach draws from a variety of evidence-informed practices, including CBT, DBT, EMDR, mindfulness, and psychoeducation, allowing me to tailor therapy to each person's needs rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. I believe strongly in empowering clients to recognize their strengths, develop effective coping strategies, and build skills they can draw on in many areas of their lives. I welcome clients of all genders and identities and strive to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where people feel comfortable being themselves.
