Clinical bio
Andrea Morris, LCMHC As therapists, we spend our days holding space for others. We understand the theories, recognize our patterns, and know what healing “should” look like. Yet insight alone doesn’t always resolve the nervous system’s protective responses. Sometimes we need a therapeutic experience that reaches beyond cognition. I work with therapists, helping professionals, healthcare providers, veterans, first responders, and other high-capacity individuals seeking deep, lasting healing from trauma, attachment injuries, anxiety, burnout, and nervous system dysregulation. Many of the clinicians who find me have already done meaningful work in therapy but feel they’re bumping into the limits of insight-oriented approaches. My work is grounded in the belief that symptoms are adaptive—not pathological. Together, we explore the implicit patterns, attachment dynamics, and nervous system responses that continue to shape present-day experiences. I integrate Brainspotting, somatic interventions, attachment-based therapy, IFS-informed parts work, and experiential approaches, including equine-assisted psychotherapy when clinically appropriate. My goal is not simply symptom reduction but increased flexibility, integration, and a greater capacity for connection—with yourself and with others. I have a particular interest in complex trauma, developmental trauma, the mother wound, women’s mental health, chronic stress, and relational patterns rooted in early attachment experiences. I value nuance, collaboration, and creating a space where even fellow mental health professionals don’t have to be the expert. As a therapist and founder of Strides, an equine-assisted psychotherapy program, I deeply appreciate the balance between evidence-informed practice and the healing that occurs through authentic relationship, embodied awareness, and corrective emotional experiences. Whether you’re seeking your own therapy or looking for a trusted referral for a client who needs something beyond traditional talk therapy, I strive to offer a thoughtful, compassionate, and clinically grounded approach. Healing doesn’t require having all the answers. It requires a space where your nervous system can finally stop working so hard to protect you.
