Compassionate, Skilled Therapist for Grieving People, Women and Mothers

Charlotte, NC · Telehealth

Clinical bio

I have been a therapist in the Charlotte area for more than a decade. Providing a safe, welcoming therapy space and walking with clients through their challenges is one of the great honors of my life. My hope is that all who enter into therapy at Understory find both rest and belonging. Clients often describe me as warm, reassuring, hopeful, and authentic. I have previously worked with children, parents, and families at KinderMourn, the St. Jude Affiliate Clinic at Novant Health Hemby Children's Hospital, and Mitchell's House. I utilize a person-centered approach within all of my therapeutic relationships as I believe a strong therapeutic alliance is crucial for building empathy and making change. Occasionally I may incorporate other counseling philosophies like Narrative Therapy, CBT, or Solution-Focused to help clients as they journey towards growth. Having been on my own therapy journey, I empathize with those who are beginning counseling for the first time. I am continually cultivating my own self-care habits, and I regularly exercise, garden, and explore ways to balance my own life. Some of my most favorite people in the world call me mama. I have three small children, and I know firsthand the great joy and great sacrifice that comes with parenthood. When I am not providing therapy services, I am learning & growing with my own family, reading, and celebrating life's simple joys.
