Clinical bio
I am the owner of Restoration Family Counseling, established in 2016, and also a clinician on our team. I am so proud of the team we have built together and consider myself to be quite fortunate to have such wonderful colleagues. As the business owner, I strive to ensure that every client and family feels seen and supported starting with their first inquiry to the practice and continuing throughout the duration of their therapy relationship. I handle the referrals and intake and will match your needs with the clinical strengths of our team to ensure we have the right fit. If we do not have the right fit on our team, I am happy to help support you in finding other options in our community. We have great clinicians in our area — and you deserve to get your needs met. I have always had a passion for connecting with others, and I bring a high level of commitment and compassion to our clients and families. My clinical areas of interest include: Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, women’s issues, parenting, adjustment difficulties & major life changes, divorce and coparenting, and supporting the parent-child relationship across the life span (young child to adolescent to adult). I also love family work and use a systemic approach in much of my clinical work. I am not taking high conflict divorce or court involved cases due to time and specialized forensic training these cases really need. My approach to therapy incorporates strategies derived from Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and attachment based parent / child models. I feel strongly that clinical work with children and adolescents involves a high level of parental participation (through family sessions, parent consultations, direct observations of parent/child interactions, etc.). I believe that parental involvement is essential for treatment progress and the maintenance of positive outcomes. While the “causes” of difficulties in childhood and adolescence are often complex and numbered, the “solution” always involves a secure attachment figure, generally the parent or parental figure. In addition to working with children and adolescents, I also enjoys counseling adults and young adults dealing with adjustment difficulties, depression, anxiety issues, and/or familial/parenting conflict. My IFS training has bolstered my clinical work and provided a helpful framework for exploring many of life’s stressors through a lens of both curiosity and compassion (for self and others). Please note, my specialities selected on Interlace reflect the collected specialties of our team of clinicians.
